With output powers of 30-350 watts there is a product for most applications. Powers of 150 watts and above use a U channel design, while below this use conventional open frame design, with the option of cases or enclosures. The PD Series DC-DC converter range is based on conventional open frame design, using  standard footprints.  The PM series is a range of open frame medically approved power supplies that meet the requirements of UL2601-1, IEC601-1 and EN60601-1.

Using these POE Adapters, you can power most DC network devices (Hubs, Wireless Access Points, CCTV Cameras, Video Encoders) over the same Cat 5/5e cable used to connect the device to the network.

When positioning network devices system designers always have to consider the location of AC power sockets. In some cases this will restrict the optimum placement of devices, or incur additional cost in installing new units. These problems can be addressed using the WPS100K  POE Injector and Splitter bundle.

The POE product uses two units, one is an Injector of 48vDC, and the other unit is a DC - DC converter. The Injector inserts into the Cat 5 /5e cable through the 8 way RJ45 socket (LAN IN) and socket LAN OUT and Power using pins 4 and 5, +48vDC and 7 and 8, -48vDC. The Cat 5 / 5e cable then continues to the Splitter unit which can be up to 100 mts or 325 ft as defined by the IEEE 802.3 standard. Data continues to be supplied through the cable on pairs 1 and 2 and 3 and 6.

Situated on the Splitter unit is a three-way slide switch. By adjusting this switch the user can configure the voltage output to one of three voltages. This unit is very useful, as most competitors' POE Adapters are either 48vDC or 5vDC output only. The available voltages are 5vDC, 7.5vDC or 12vDC. This means that a variety of units can be powered using the same splitter. For example CCTV cameras can use the 12vDC output, or if 5vDC is selected the splitter can be used to power Video Encoders, Wireless LAN Access Points, Web Cameras, IP Phones, Blue Tooth Access Points, IP Print Servers.

This will work over systems using EIA568, Cat 5 / 5e, 4-Pair cables for 10Base T or 100Base-TX Ethernet networks.

If a Network Switch or Ethernet Hub is used, this can be powered by one Injector. Out of the Hub via Ethernet cable multiple Splitters can be used for cables that are going to different locations. If two voltages are required at the same location then two splitters can be used in series. One can be set to 5vDC output for the Video Encoder and the other can be set to 12vDC to power the CCTV camera. A careful note must be made of the total load requirements of each voltage used so that the loading on the output is not exceeded. There is a maximum loading per site of 15.4 watts. Therefore if both 5v and 12v units are used at the same location via the same Ethernet cable then a maximum total loading of 15.4 watts still applies.
